Providing Space to Local Charities

Providing space to Swindon's local charity - Threshold.

Infinite Logistics, a local warehousing and logistics company, has recently stepped up to support the charity RunVember event in its attempts to support the homeless community in Swindon. RunVember is a campaign that gathers money for the purpose of giving homeless people basic necessities for comfort and survival.

The idea behind RunVember’s admission fee is straightforward but effective. Participants must put non-perishable things, including sleeping bags, clothes, roll mats etc. in a special RunVember box. This strategy guarantees that the event generates a significant amount of donations, whilst encouraging physical exercise and community involvement. However, Threshold was without an appropriate storage option thus making the logistics of transporting several hundred boxes difficult.

How Infinite Logistics stepped up and provided space.

With a remarkable 294 people taking on the challenge of completing 30 runs in 30 days, the need for ample storage space became evident. Safety and security were crucial factors, as the near 300 boxes had to be stored properly. This is where Infinite Logistics, based in the Westmead Industrial Estate, Swindon, stepped in to lend a helping hand. Recognising the importance of RunVember’s cause, Infinite Logistics generously offered free space within their expansive warehouse. Moreover, they facilitated flexible drop-off times and easy access for all participants.

Management at Infinite Logistics, expressed their delight at being able to contribute to such a worthy cause, stating, “We’re really pleased that we’ve been able to do our bit for this worthwhile cause that provides such a valuable resource to the local homeless community. Alan’s enthusiasm for this event is infectious.”

Alan Butler, the dedicated organiser behind RunVember, shared his appreciation for the growing support the event has received: “If this continues to grow, then we can make a massive difference not only to Swindon’s homeless population but also to the 250,000 homeless people across the UK. Without the support of the runners and local businesses, this event wouldn’t have achieved the success it has. Therefore, I extend a massive thank you to all of you and look forward to seeing you at the same time and place next year.”
